Imprints (Year 2)
Every society, in every age, has its version of the "unclean" folk, the "untouchables," the "outcasts." It could be as simple as the experience of the unpopular child who feels ugly and clumsy and no one wants to sit with at lunch, or it could as complex as the AIDS sufferer many people are afraid to embrace. This month in our Imprints study we will be looking at stories of lepers who experienced a healing touch, who were made whole and who were restored to community life. Lepers were the outcasts of Jesus' time, the untouchables. He defied the custom and the authorities of his day by including them in his healing ministry. Let's reflect this month on what it means for us to defiantly reach out and offer a healing touch to the "unclean" outcasts of our world.
