Transportation in Cuba is hard. For those in outlying areas--such as the members of our sister church, Iglesia Bautista de Rios de Agua Viva in La Vallita--it is nearly impossible. Enter the electric tricycle! This vehicle can transport 8-9 people and can travel a reasonable distance on a full charge. For recharging, it is simply connected to a regular electrical socket. Plus, we have received a large donation to cover the cost of solar panels for the church meaning that nationwide power outages will not leave them without transportation.
Ecclesia is raising $5000 to purchase the trike, materials to build a safe place to park it, and other necessary items including a rain cover, an extra battery, and a spare tire.
