Imprints (Year 2)
For the people of biblical times, the sea and the lake were not thought of as calm vacation spots, but were frightening and dangerous places where monsters resided. The turbulence of the waves were symbolic of the turbulence created by evil spirits lurking beneath the surface of life. When Jesus came, he amazed
people with his authority over both kinds of turbulence – the raging waves and the raging spirits. Both obeyed his voice. This month, our Imprints study takes a look at how Jesus dealt with the scary storms and spirits that threatened life, and how we can call on his authority to deal with the destructive storms and spirits we encounter in our own lives.
